Free tool
App QR code generator
One QR code for your app: iPhones go to the App Store, Android phones to Google Play, and computers get a page with both. Free, no sign-up.
From apps.apple.com, or the app's id (the numbers after /id).
From play.google.com, or the package name (like com.example.app).
Only on one store? Fill in just that one.
Add an App Store or Google Play link — your QR code appears here.
How it works
One code, the right store on every phone.
Paste your store links
Your App Store link, your Google Play link, or both. App ids and package names work too.
Download the QR code
PNG up to 2048 px for print, or SVG that scales to any size. Pick your colours.
Each phone gets its store
iPhones and iPads open the App Store, Android phones Google Play, computers a page with both.
Store QR code vs AppLink QR code
This code opens the store. An AppLink opens the app.
A store QR code is perfect for “get our app” on packaging, posters and slides. But people who already have your app land on a store page, and a new user who installs starts on your home screen.
A CodeOnAir AppLink QR code opens the app straight away when it's installed, sends everyone else to the right store, and keeps the deep link through the install — so a new user lands on the offer or product they scanned. You can change where it points without reprinting, and see scans, installs and opens. The Free plan includes 100 app links.
Questions
Does this QR code open my app?
No — it opens your app's page on the App Store or Google Play. If the app is already installed, the store page shows an Open button, but the phone doesn't go into the app by itself and nothing is passed to it. To open the app directly when it's installed, and keep the link's screen through the install when it isn't, use a CodeOnAir AppLink QR code instead.
What happens when someone scans it on a computer?
They see a small page with your App Store and Google Play buttons and the QR code itself, so they can scan it with their phone. iPads in desktop mode are sent to the App Store like other iPads.
Does the QR code expire, or have a scan limit?
No. It's free, with no sign-up, no expiry and no scan limit. The code holds a short codeonair.com link with your App Store id and package name in it, and that link only ever sends people to those two store pages.
My app is only on one store. Can I still use it?
Yes. Fill in just that store. Phones on the other platform see a page that says the app isn't available there, instead of a dead end.
What size should I print it?
At least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, larger if it's scanned from a distance — a poster read from 2 metres needs about 20 cm. Download the PNG at 1024 px or more, or the SVG, which stays sharp at any size. Keep the white border around the code and a dark code on a light background: inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many phones.
Can I change where it points after printing?
Not this one: it always opens the two store pages it was made for. If you need to change destinations later, track scans or send people to a screen inside the app, make an AppLink QR code in CodeOnAir — you edit the link, and the printed code keeps working.
Do you store my app details or track scans?
No. Nothing is saved when you make a code, and scans aren't stored or counted. Your app's ids live only in the link inside the QR code.
